We are a family run small business with lots of experience in the drainage field.

Health & Safety

We have a very strict welfare, health and safety policy in force. All our staff are fully trained to CITB City and Guilds standards. All our machinery and electrical hand tool are fully safety tested at regular intervals. All safe systems of work are in place and we endeavor to implement all Health and Safety requirements as they are imposed.

History of our company

Action Rod Southern was established in 1986 by Rod and Sue Burke who at that time ran the Company as a Partnership.

For the first two years most of the business was emergency work i.e. Blocked and Broken Drains and in those days Plumbing was also part of our daily works.

In 1989 we changed our name to Action Enviro and started supplying and installing sewage treatment plants at properties where there are no main drains, this is today our main business. We work closely with The Environment Agency in trying to clean up the pollution in rivers, ditches and the countryside. Along with this side of our business we carry out the servicing of these sewage systems, and have over the year built up a considerable database of clients.

In 1989 Rod and Sue Burkes son Trevor joined the company and is today a director.

Trevor Burke carries out all the camera surveys and issue the reports for all drainage problems and house purchases.

In 1999 Trevors wife Sarah joined us at the office and still works for us today as well as bringing up their young son.

In 2003 we started trading as a limited company.

In 2004 Mark Wigley joined us as service manager, and has bought our service department into the 20th century, writing a program to manage and keep accurate records as required by the Environment agency on the services carried out on sewage treatment plants.

Most of our remaining staff have been with us for a number of years and are all fully trained by us in all aspects of drainage and installation of sewage treatment plants.

We pride ourselves that any work that we as a company carry out is of a standard that we would expect it to be if it were carried out on our own properties.

We endeavour to keep our charges as competitive as todays financial climate allows.
